Liberia Dujar Association (LDA) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1993 in response to the humanitarian needs in Liberia, which at that time was in the midst of a long lasting conflict. In the period from 1993 to 2002, LDA provided humanitarian services to thousands of Liberians and Sierra Leonean refugees in Danane, Ivory Coast, in area such as academic and vocational training and child day care.  Liberia Dujar Association (LDA) consists of two partner’s organizations, LDA-Sweden and LDA-Liberia that are independent of each other and are each led by their own boards.  In 1997, the idea to develop similar projects matured and Liberia Dujar Association (LDA) was registered as an NGO in Liberia in 1997.  Since that time, LDA has provided humanitarian services in the Liberian education sector to thousands of school-aged children and youths.  Since 2003, the end of the civil war, Liberia Dujar Association (LDA) has been supporting the effort of the Liberian government to re-establish the education infrastructures of the country. LDA had renovated and /or constructed seventeen (17) schools with funding from the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) for thirteen schools while four (4) schools were renovated with funds from UNDP and Action Aid-Liberia respectively.
